The Vigil
Inspired by the artwork of Frederic Remington
Stillness. Watchfulness. Resolve.
The Moment
Silence across the frontier. A rider stands guard, alert and unwavering, embodying the quiet intensity of a lone sentinel.
The Vigil captures that powerful pause between movement and action — the instant where awareness matters most. Inspired by the paintings of Frederic Remington, this sculpture reflects the dramatic storytelling and atmospheric tension that defined his vision of the American West. Though not sculpted by Remington himself, inspired works such as this were created by later artists who translated his painted scenes into three-dimensional form.
The result is a commanding presence — a figure defined not by motion, but by readiness. It is a sculpture that speaks to strength without noise.
The Craftsmanship
Handcrafted in solid bronze using the traditional lost-wax casting process, this piece preserves intricate detail and expressive form. From the posture of the rider to the subtle textures throughout, every surface is individually finished by hand.
A rich, hand-applied patina enhances depth and dimension, creating natural variations in tone and character. No two pieces are exactly alike. Most are mounted on a polished marble base and signed on the bronze, offering a refined and substantial presentation.
Built with heirloom quality in mind, this sculpture is designed to be admired today and passed down for generations.
Installation & Placement
Constructed for both indoor and outdoor display, The Vigil is made to endure the elements and maintain its beauty with minimal maintenance. Over time, the bronze will develop character while preserving its structural integrity.
For larger sizes or permanent installations, mounting brackets can be welded onto the sculpture upon request. Mounting bolts can then secure the piece firmly to concrete, stone, or other solid surfaces, providing added stability for outdoor or high-traffic environments.
All measurements are approximate, and patina tones may vary slightly due to the hand-applied finishing process.
The Vigil is more than decorative art — it is a symbol of readiness, resilience, and enduring strength. A powerful addition to a Western-inspired home, executive office, ranch, or estate setting.
